CBERS 3 and 4 Cameras

CBERS-3 and 4 have a very interesting suit of imaging cameras which will attend multiple applications and users. The spatial resolutions will vary from 5 m to 64 m, the revisit capability can be so fast as 3 days, and the spectral coverage is from blue to thermal infrared. All cameras can operate at the same time and all data can be directly downlinked to ground receiving stations or can be stored onboard for later transmission to ground receiving stations. This new CBERS family is a very powerful data provider for Earth Observation.

The main characteristics of the cameras are presented below.


PanMux Camera (PANMUX)

This camera can provide stereo images and is built under Chinese responsibility.

This camera is built under Brazilian responsibility and it is an upgrade of the 20m-High Resolution CCD Camera of CBERS-1, 2 and 2B satellites.

Infrared Medium Resolution Scanner (IRSCAM)

This camera is built under China responsibility and it is an upgrade of the Infrared Multispectral Scanner (IRMSS) of the CBERS-1 and 2 satellites.
